Violence Link Division

Robert Mills, Chairman & CEO Valley Associates, a Bastedo Defence company is pleased to welcome Teena Stoddart to the Valley Associates team in the role of Lead Instructor for their newly formed Violence Link Division. Teena’s first career was as a Paralegal in the area of civil litigation, before becoming a police officer in 1991.

Teena started her policing career with the Ontario Provincial Police in 1991, transferring to the Ottawa Police Service in 1998. She held positions in frontline policing, Human Resources, Major Case Management/Viclas, Planning, Performance and Analytics, Quality Assurance, and as the Violence Link Coordinator.

In 2010, Teena was seconded to the Ontario Behavioural Science Unit as a Viclas Analyst, where she received training on serial sexual predators from RCMP, as well as training at FBI conferences. Teena was one of the founding members of the Canadian Violence Link Coalition, which includes professionals from across Canada including Crown Attorneys, Victim Crisis professionals, police officers, animal welfare professionals, etc.

As one of the leading Canadian subject matter experts on the violence link, Teena has served on expert discussion panels, testified at the House of Commons Justice Committee on Bill C-84, consulted with Federal and Provincial politicians on legislative issues, authored amendment to Parliamentary Brief C-3 which resulted in mandatory violence link training for Judiciary, and presented at various conferences and community groups on the Violence link.

Teena retired from policing at the end of May 2021, and now leads the Violence Link Division for Valley Associates Global Security.
